- Basil Tree Catering was founded by a woman. In fact, we’re Women’s Business Enterprise certified!
- More than half of our staff of 30 are women!
- More than half of our department heads/managers are women too!
Let me introduce you to some of these fierce Basil Tree women
(at least the ones who would agree to be photographed…)
Valerie Shulock, owner: Val started Basil Tree 32 years ago. She has evolved the company from a small prepared foods start-up to the established business it is today!
Madalena, kitchen prep: Madalena has been with BT for 13 years. She has made nearly everything on the menu and is incredibly versatile and hardworking!
Maria, sandwich manager: Maria has been with BT for 6 years. She manages the sandwich dept. and produces hundreds of delicious sandwiches and platters daily!
Jaime, marketing/sales manager: Jaime has been with BT for 4.5 years. She works on branding and manages the sales and sampling efforts among other various tasks (like making these newsletters)!
Cindy, HR manager: Cindy has been with BT for 4 years. She manages hiring and orientation of new staff as well as making sure everyone gets paid and is happy!
